Synopsis

Irish duo Brothers Broke return to Dorking with their 5-star reviewed Edinburgh Fringe show, adapting and performing a unique interpretation of songs by Dylan and Lennon. This casual yet engaging performance compares the like-minded and socially conscious lyrics of both artists. The duo modify and present the songs in a Blues/Folk style with tight sibling harmonies, around a story of the influence, jealousy, parody and respect that each artist had for the other.

Listed by Counter Culture as one of “Five Edinburgh Fringe Festival Unmissable Shows 2024”, we are thrilled to announce this show’s performance at Dorking during October.

Featured recently on BBC Radio Ulster, and fresh from another successful run at the world’s largest Arts Festival, acoustic duo Brothers Broke will present this popular and outstandingly reviewed show at the Green Room Theatre – home of DDOS, on Saturday 26th October 2024 (7:30pm).

Exploring the fascinating relationship between Bob Dylan and John Lennon, the brothers interpret and present songs by both artists around a fact-based script, in an acoustic folk style.

The show was this year described as “a must-see for anyone who appreciates the power of music to evoke emotions, inspire reflection, and shed light on the socio-political landscape”. Whether you’re looking for a casual, yet energetic acoustic performance of some great Dylan and Lennon songs or wish to appreciate a unique in-person performance of a thought-provoking concept, this show is for you.
