Dracula: A Comedy With Bite! – Auditions

Eight actors and an ancient evil – what could possibly go wrong?

Transylvania 1893, when Lucy falls prey to a mysterious illness can Professor Van Helsing convince our heroes that vampires exist – and can they stop Count Dracula from spreading his curse to England?

Loosely based on Bram Stoker’s horror classic, expect spooky surprises and silly jokes as The Suttoners bring their irreverent take on the Dracula legend to Minden! You’d be batty to miss it!

This is a new 90-minute stage adaptation of the Dracula legend, drawing on Bram Stoker’s book and, in particular, Hammer Films gothic classics.

We will be looking for eight actors to play all the parts, often with lightning fast costume changes. All roles are open to performers of any gender and age. The  final script being a product of the rehearsal process. Shaun Hughes will direct.

The auditions for ‘Dracula! A Comedy with Bite’ are completely open, whether you’ve joined us for a previous production or would just like to be part of this experience!

Auditions will be held from 1pm on Sunday 15th March at The Green Room theatre, Dorking.

The production will play for three performances at the Green Room on 6-8 August 2026, at Lewes Little Theatre on 14 August and 20-21 August at Fort A, Minden, Germany. Fort A is an open-air venue.

We will travel to Germany from 16 to 23 August 2026. We anticipate that travel will be by minibus and accommodation will be with a German family. Minden is famous for the hospitality we are offered, and trips often result in lifelong friendships.

The trip will include a full itinerary and some onsite rehearsals. There will be a fee, not exceeding £350 to be part of this production to help defray costs.

We will give more details and do our best to answer any questions you might have and work together to create a company to take this to the next stage at the auditions. Rehearsals will be based on the availability of the cast, and we will do our best to work around any existing commitments.
